A PUB in Hockley has re-opened after temporarily closing due to "unforeseen circumstances".
The Bull Inn, in Main Road, Hockley, announced yesterday it had closed temporarily in a post on Facebook.
Bosses stated: "Important Notice. Unfortunately, we have had to close the pub due to unforeseen circumstances. We are unsure at this time when we will be able to reopen and can only apologise for the inconvenience caused."
At the time it was unclear as to why the pub closed, however, it has since been confirmed there was a "false alarm" fire.
The Bull Inn has today re-opened.
A spokesman for The Bull said: “Unfortunately, there was a small electrical fault that triggered the fire alarm yesterday.
"We are very grateful to the fire service and electrical contractors for their swift attendance and resolving the issue.
"No one was harmed and no damage was caused to the building. We can confirm that we are open today as usual.”
A spokesman for Essex Fire added: "We were called to reports of a burning smell, thankfully it was a false alarm and there wasn't a fire."
