Ongoing problems with "smart" train tickets have forced c2c to urge commuters to switch to paper or e-tickets this morning (February 7).

A spokesman for c2c Rail said: "We are sorry for the issues around loading tickets onto Smartcards. We're sorry to inform that this issue is still persisting.

"Please purchase e-tickets or daily paper tickets in the meantime. We apologise for the inconvenience caused."
