A warning has been issued for "extremely high spring tides" of 6.15 metres in Southend today - with flooding likely.
HM Coastguard Southend have issued a warning of the extremely high spring tides, which are set to be the highest of the year so far, at approximately 6.15 metres at 2.24pm.
The organisation, who monitor the coastline of Southend, have warned that the area around the Genting Casino on the Westcliff foreshore is more likely to see light flooding - if the conditions present themselves.
A spokesman for HM Coastguard Southend said: "Tidal times are an approximation as they are influenced by the prevailing on day weather conditions.
"Should you see anyone in trouble on or near the coast, don't hesitate to call 999 and ask for the coastguard, you could save someone's life."
