Detectives investigating a murder have issued an appeal for residents in a south Essex town who may have seen the victim in the days or weeks before his death to come forward.
Dimitrios Tsavdaris, known as Jimmy, was found dead at an address on Lansdowne Drive, in Hackney, on Monday, January 29.
A post-mortem examination concluded that he had died as a result of injuries consistent with an attack and a murder probe has been launched.
Met Police officers are now appealing for help to piece together the 54-year-old's movements prior to his death. The victim had previously stayed in Orkney Gardens, in Wickford.

Detective Chief Inspector Kelly Allen, who is leading the investigation, said: “We are carrying out extensive enquiries into Dimitrios’ death and as part of this we need to know more details about him and his background.
“Although he had no fixed address, we know he had previously stayed at properties in Orkney Gardens, Wickford and Grenville Road in Islington.
“We would ask anyone who lives or works in those areas to think about whether they may have seen him in recent weeks and months."
Dimitrios is not believed to have any family in the UK but his next of kin have been informed of his death.
Anyone with information is asked to call 101 or post on X @MetCC quoting reference 7027/29Jan.
