CHART toppers and renowned DJs have been revealed in a huge "second wave" line-up announced for the new Lazydays festival coming to Southend this summer.

The new three-day craft drinks festival is coming to Priory Park in July after almost "a year of planning" - and now organisers have added another round of big names to the impressive line-up.

This includes the chart-topping pop rock band The Hoosiers, double-platinum-selling Newton Faulkner, Sundara Karma, Mystery Jets, Girl Ray and The Cuban Brothers.

They will join previously announced legends Craig Charles and David Rodigan, as well as Sleeper and The Futureheads.

Elliott Waters, co-founder of Lazydays Festival said: “Lazydays is the result of nearly a year of planning, and keeping the lineup top secret has been no mean feat.

“Food and drink are meant for celebration, a tradition ingrained in society for millennia. Pairing that with a huge array of big-name acts at a festival is the perfect way to continue that long-held tradition.”

Dubbed by Q Magazine as one of the "ten DJs to see before you die", DJ Yoda is set to perform a live set at the new festival coming to the city on July 26-28.

Essex band Rounds will also be returning for their first performance in ten years.

The festival consists of four sessions across the weekend, kicking off on Friday night, followed by two sessions on Saturday, and closing with an extended Sunday session.

Following the festival’s launch announcement at the end of December, early bird tickets were quick to sell out in January.

The festival is also announcing its first of ten drink partners to be showcased across the weekend, with Legra Tap owners and one of south Essex’s finest purveyors of beer Leigh Brewery.

Both afternoon sessions are family-friendly and will feature activities including a children’s mocktail bar, providing entertainment for the whole family, with children aged 11 and under gaining free admission.

Single-session entry is available from £39.95, which includes the first drink for festival-goers. For more details, visit lazydaysfestival.com.
