"AT least two vehicles" have reportedly been involved in a crash on the A127 towards the M25 this morning, causing queues heading out of Basildon.
Drivers have reported the incident took place on the opposite side of the road from the Halfway House bar and restaurant, near East Horndon.
Police are attending the scene and traffic is queuing.
AA Traffic News is reporting "severe delays" of 25 minutes which are increasing on the A127 Southend Arterial Road London-bound, between High Road (Fortune Of War) and Childerditch Lane. The average speed is ten miles per hour.
Traffic is building up in both directions around West Horndon.
