A TEENAGER has been left with life changing injuries after a crash in Basildon.

Emergency services were called to Pitsea Road, Basildon, shortly after 12.10pm yesterday following reports of a crash.

The crash involved a car and a motorcycle.

A teenager, the motorcycle rider, suffered serious injuries which are deemed to be life changing. He was taken to The Royal London Hospital for further care.

The road was closed for several hours whilst Essex Police dealt with the crash.

Officers are now urging witnesses to come forward.

A spokesman for Essex Police said: ““We were called to reports of a collision involving a car and motorcycle shortly after 12.10pm on Thursday 7 March, in Pitsea Road, Basildon.

“One casualty, the motorcycle rider, suffered serious injuries and was taken on to hospital for further care.

“His injuries are described as non-life-threatening but life-changing.

“If you have any information, CCTV, dash cam or other footage in relation to either incident, then please get in contact with us.”

A spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Service added: “We were called at 12.06pm yesterday with reports of a collision at the junction of Pitsea Road and Little Garth, Pitsea.

“We sent Essex and Herts Air Ambulance, two ambulances and an ambulance officer vehicle.

“A teenager was taken to The Royal London Hospital by land ambulance for further care.”
