A NEW charity shop has opened in the former Superdrug site in Rayleigh High Street.

Barnardo’s, who support some of the UK’s most vulnerable children, have opened up a new charity store today.

Mr Francois said: “As a long-standing supporter of Barnardo’s, it was a privilege for me to open their second store in Rayleigh.

“Barnardo’s provides essential support services for children, young people, and families across the country. I would encourage the local community to shop, donate and learn more about the invaluable work they do.”

Ms Belton added: “It was a pleasure to cut the ribbon today and meet so many wonderful store associates and volunteers from Barnardo’s.

“Shops like this are so important, not just for children and young people who will benefit from the support Barnardo’s offers, but to help our high street continue to thrive.”

Barnardo’s say they are now eager to receive good-quality donations including clothing, books, DVDs, toys, games, accessories, antiques and homeware.

Income from the shop will help the charity to continue its vital work supporting children and young people to be safe, happy, healthy and hopeful.

Barnardo’s Area Business Manager Diane Green said: “We are so pleased to be opening a second, larger store in Rayleigh.

“By donating and shopping with Barnardo’s, customers will be helping us to make a difference, and achieve lasting change for the children, young people and families who need us the most.

“We hope the community of Rayleigh will continue to help us give children a brighter future.”

The new Barnardo’s shop in Rayleigh is open Monday to Saturday from 9am to 5pm, and from 10am to 4pm on Sundays.
