A 13-YEAR-OLD boy and a man were rushed to hospital after reportedly being attacked by a gang "seen carrying weapons" at the weekend.

Police are appealing for witnesses following the reported assault at Sheesh restaurant on Sunday evening.

Officers were called to the famous Chigwell restaurant, in High Road, at around 10.15pm following reports that two people had been assaulted.

The victims, a 13-year-old boy and a 21-year-old man, went to hospital with injuries which are not deemed to be life-threatening.

It was reported that a number of suspects, carrying weapons, entered the restaurant and assaulted the two victims.

Investigating Detective Sergeant Tristan Carter said: “We are working quickly to investigate this assault. No arrests have been made at this stage but our officers are working at pace and our enquiries are ongoing.” 

Officers from Essex Police's Criminal Investigation Department are appealing for the public’s help.
