DRIVERS are facing long delays in Southend and Rochford this evening rush hour amid roadworks taking place in two major roads.
Roadworks on the A127 at the junction with Rochford Road is causing "long delays" on all approaches, according to Essex County Council's traffic control.
Roadworks are also continuing on nearby Sutton Road at Purdeys industrial estate, causing "severe congestion" back towards Southend.

According to one.network, a lane closure is in place in Rochford Road until tomorrow for Openreach works, while multi-way traffic signals are in place on the A127 for Cadent works until next Friday, March 22.
The temporary two-way traffic signals in Sutton Road are scheduled to be in place until Friday as Anglian Water works are being carried out.
