"SHAMELESS" individuals have stolen a tricycle from a "legendary" 97-year-old Hadleigh man.
Rebecca Harris, MP for Castle Point, has launched a social media campaign to help find a tricycle.
The tricycle was stolen outside Hadleigh Methodist Church, in Chapel Lane, on Tuesday afternoon.
Ms Harris has today posted an appeal to "find the trike".
The tricycle belonged to Ron Hurrell, a former teacher and "legendary" Hadleigh character.
In a post on social media, it said that this was Ron's only means of transport, as the community comes together to get it back.
Ms Harris said: "Let's find this trike.
"Some shameless individual took the tricycle of 97 year old former teacher and legendary Hadleigh character Ron Hurrell from outside Hadleigh Methodist Church on Chapel Lane on Thursday afternoon.
"There are unconfirmed reports of the trike being seen ridden down Essex Way past the Hoy and Helmet towards Canvey.
"If you think you may have spotted it please call Essex Police on 101 and quote incident number 72014032024."
