A MAN has been charged with making threats to kill and controlling or coercive behaviour following the death of a woman in Basildon.

Essex Police received notification of a woman who had been admitted to a London hospital in a life-threatening condition on Sunday, March 10, after she was found unconscious at an address in Elsenham Crescent.

Sadly, the woman in her thirties, died on March 14 and a murder investigation was launched.

A 32-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder.

Now, police have confirmed that 32-year-old Joshua Robinson, of no fixed abode, has been charged with threats to kill and engaging in controlling or coercive behaviour. 

An Essex Police spokesman said: “Our investigation is ongoing. 

“If you have any information or footage in relation to this incident, then please get in contact with us.” 

Investigation leader Det Chief Insp Louise Metcalfe, told the Echo on Friday that further enquiries would be made. 

She said: “We will be carrying out enquiries to help us establish the events that took place before the woman was taken to hospital and I’d ask anyone who holds information that could help our investigation to contact us.”
