A HUGE vegan food festival with caterers from around the world is set to descend on Southend.

Vegan Events has announced it will be bring the festival to the city and taking over Garon Park later this year with more than 60 stalls offering “food from around the world”, exciting demonstrations and inspirational talks.

Bosses say there will also be products you won’t find in the supermarket, recipes, nutritional advice, and budget cooking ideas, as well as free samples.

This is the first time the event will be hosted in Southend after previously being held in Colchester.

Victoria Bryceson, festival organiser, was delighted to share the announcement.

She said: “I am really excited about this year’s Essex Vegan festival.

“We have had such amazing feedback from everyone at previous events in Colchester, I am expecting it to be a sell-out.

“I am sure that people from Southend and south Essex will enjoy the stalls, talks, demonstrations and atmosphere.

“We look forward to welcoming everyone, not just vegans, to the event.

“Our goal is to continue to bring vegans and non-vegans together, to support local vegan business, and to show just how easy it is to be vegan.”

Vegan Events UK was founded in 2017 with the aim of promoting veganism.

Its series of Vegan Festivals around the country provide a one stop shopping experience where all of your vegan products and services can be found in one place.

Featured stalls include The Iced Vegan and Miracle’s Mission. The Iced Vegan is an award-winning vegan business providing delicious cakes.

Miracle’s Mission is a non-profit animal welfare organisation that works with sick, injured, and difficult animals.

Victoria added: “So if you are looking for a vegan space with no need for label-checking, lots of new products and delicious food that you simply cannot buy at the supermarket, which is also family friendly, you have come to the right place.

“There will be everything vegan you could possibly need all under one roof at Essex Vegan Festival.”

The festival will be at the Southend Leisure and Tennis Centre, Garon Park, between 10.30am and 4pm on November 3.
