PART of a key south Essex road will be shut from tonight for emergency repairs after a gas leak.
Emergency lane closures will be in place on the A127 from 9pm tonight while Cadent Gas carries out repairs in the road, following the leak in the area.

The major road will have one lane closed in both Southend-bound and London-bound directions at the junction with Pound Lane - between the A132 at Nevendon and Fairglen Interchange - near the Dick Turpin pub.
The lane closures are expected to remain until Sunday, March 24.
A diversion route will be signposted and emergency access will be maintained at all times, drivers are reassured.
