Rebecca Harris, MP for Castle Point, said: “Cadent are continuing with the next phase of their £3.4 million investment into making the ageing gas mains network around Castle Point more resilient and future ready.

“A few summers ago, we suffered a string of emergency gas works across the Borough and I made it clear Cadent need to invest more in the network to prevent it from happening again and these works should cut down on the chances of more emergency works on our main roads in the future.

“The key to this is planning and letting residents know in good time.

“I am pleased that Cadent sat down with the Essex County Councillor around a table to plan the works and make sure every effort is made to keep traffic flowing around the Borough as much as possible while they take place.”
