Dogs Trust Basildon is always looking for loving homes to welcome a pawed pal in need, so check out this week's selection of adorable pups.

Nico, an English Springer Spaniel Cross

Echo: NicoNico (Image: Dogs Trust)

Nico is a lovely boy who can live with children over the age of 13 years old. He can live with another calm dog pending a successful dog introduction at the centre.

He loves to be "on the go" all the time, so would like an active home where he will be taken on lots of lovely adventures. He needs all his basic training and will need housetraining.

Nico will need regular grooming as he gets matted easily, but he has been a really good boy when being groomed. Nico would benefit from a secure private garden to explore in.

Alfie, a Staffordshire Bull Terrier Cross

Echo: AlfieAlfie (Image: Dogs Trust)

Alfie is a sweet boy, who is believed to be a Staffie and Jack Russell cross. He is approximately seven years old.

He loves his toys, so this would be a great way to make friends with him. Ideally, a quiet location would be his preference with not too much footfall and traffic - as he can be reactive.

Once he builds his confidence and a bond, he will love to be around you and have a fuss. This little lad's favourite pastime is playing fetch.

Alfie does find the car stressful and can bark, so he will need a little love and patience, and ongoing training in this area.

Blake, a Labrador Retriever Cross

Echo: BlakeBlake (Image: Dogs Trust)

Blake is an all-round bundle of joy who will give any family so much love when you have built up a bond with him. Exploring is a must for this big lad who loves his walks, and new adventures, and playing with tennis balls.

He hasn’t experienced much car travel so will need some ongoing car training.

This handsome dude will reward his new family with so much love and happiness. New adopters will need to be able to travel to the centre for multiple visits to build up a bond.

Bryn, Welsh Terrier

Echo: BrynBryn (Image: Dogs Trust)

Two-year-old Bryn was sadly returned to the centre due to "unwanted behaviours" in the home. In true terrier style, he is super smart and is quickly learning new skills.

He is being crate trained, muzzle trained, is getting used to a harness, and is an all round top student. He will need to be muzzled in the vets and groomers for his own safety. Bryn is partial to a hotdog and cheese which are used for his training, and he adores squeaky toys and swap games. Fetch is his absolute favourite, and it's easy to become his best friend with the help of a tennis ball.

Trainers have been using a flirt pole with Bryn, which is helping him with his impulse control.

Bryn travels well in the car, enjoys adventuring and exploring, and loves getting out and about for a walk. He can also be left for short periods of time and is able to settle with a chew. Bryn will be a rewarding rehome to a family who are willing to put some time in to training him, and helping him be the best boy he can be.

Odie, a French Bulldog Cross

Echo: OdieOdie (Image: Dogs Trust)

Four-year-old Odie is a super cute boy who is looking for a home with a single person who is experienced with dogs and the Frenchie breed. He can often be quite mouthy when he gets over-excited, so he will need an understanding human who is willing to work on this with him.

Much of his recent stress came from being in a kennels, but since Odie has been in a foster home he has shown himself to be much more chilled, so we are hopeful that this will get better with time and patience.

Odie enjoys his walks, likes seeing other dogs when he is out, and likes to make new doggy friends. He would not like to live with another dog though, since both his human and his toys are very precious to him and he does not like to share.

His new home will need to be quiet, with minimal to no visitors, as he would like to keep all the attention for himself.

Odie is a friendly lad who builds extraordinarily strong bonds with his favourite humans, and a potential adopter will need to make multiple visits to the centre to get to know him and his little quirks before taking him home.
