Motorists are battling severe congestion on the Southend-bound A127 this morning - due to an abandoned caravan at a crucial interchange. 

Reports from AA are showing severe delays on the A127 Southend Bound, between the Nevendon interchange and Fairglen Interchange, due to ongoing issues with an "abandoned caravan".

Traffic is building to Southend, where motorists are also facing delays due to lane closures caused by gas main works.

Essex Travel News is also reporting that A127 Southend-bound is facing slow traffic from the A129 at Rayleigh Weir to Progress Road.

The average speed is ten mph.
