A PASSENGER has been rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries after a serious Essex crash.
Emergency services were called to a crash in Howe Green, Chelmsford, at around 1:30pm yesterday afternoon.
This followed reports of a crash between a white HGV lorry with a red trailer and a black Nissan Navara at the junction of Old Southend Road and Southend Road.
The passenger of the car has been taken to hospital with serious injuries, which are being treated as life-threatening.
The driver of the lorry has been arrested.
Essex Police are urging witnesses to come forward.
A spokesman said: "We are appealing for information following a serious collision in Howe Green, Chelmsford.
"Officers particularly want to hear from anyone who has not already spoken to police and who witnessed the moments leading up to the collision.
"If you have any information, CCTV, dash cam or other footage in relation to this incident, then please get in contact with us.
"Please cite incident 0580 of 2 April."
