ADORABLE pups are looking for loving homes, as they're currently in the care of Dogs Trust's Basildon rehoming centre.

Merlin, a French Bulldog Cross

Merlin is a French Bulldog-Dachshund cross who was handed over to the centre through no fault of his own.

His new adopters will need to be around most of the time and leaving hours will need to be built up slowly. Merlin loves to walk and explore but will need ongoing patience and understanding with car travel as he is not used to travelling.

Merlin will be a rewarding addition to a dedicated family which is keen to continue encourage him to shine and be the best dog he can be. Merlin is learning to play with toys, which are helping him to focus his energy as he can be quite "mouthy".

Sheba, a German Shepherd Cross

Echo: ShebaSheba (Image: Dogs Trust)

Sheba is an eight-year-old crossbreed who came to us with not much previous history. She is now with foster carers as she was finding kennel life stressful. The team and her foster family are working with her being left alone and separation from people.

Her new adopters will need to be around most of the time and leaving hours will need to be built up slowly. Sheba loves to walk and explore but will need ongoing patience and understanding with car travel, as she is "not a fan".

Support and advice will also be given for her new owners on how to deal with these behaviours.

Sheba will be a rewarding addition to a dedicated family.

Her foster family said: "Sheba is a fantastic girl and has been an absolute dream in the home. She adores all humans, loves cuddles, attention, and even grooming. Sheba is house trained, sleeps all night and is a joy to walk. Any family lucky enough to adopt Sheba will be amazed by the wonderful lady she is."

Herbie, a foxhound

Echo: HerbieHerbie (Image: Dogs Trust)

Handsome Herbie is ready to search for his forever home. He will need an adult only home with no visiting children due to his nervous side.

He can live with another dog pending a successful dog introduction at the centre. He is such a lovely boy but can be strong on the lead.

Sudden movements can worry him, and Herbie needs a quiet home away from busy areas. He is anxious around cars, roads and traffic. He needs a private  garden he can potter around in and help with training, as he hasn’t been housetrained in the kennel.

On walks, he must be on lead unless in enclosed areas.

His new owners will need to visit multiple times before he can go home.

Evie, a German Shepherd

Echo: EvieEvie (Image: Dogs Trust)

Two-year-old Evie arrived at the centre with not much previous history. She does have separation anxiety and has been known to "grab" trousers when people try to leave her. Any leaving hours will need to be built up slowly over time.

The centre has no history on how she is in the car, so she may need car training.

Evie is an anxious girl who would benefit from a quiet home. She needs all her basic training, but is super smart and loves to learn new things. She takes treats nicely and while she hasn't shown much interest in toys, she does prefer human company.

Overall, Evie is a sweet girl with lots of love to give.

Max, a crossbreed

Echo: MaxMax (Image: Dogs Trust)

Max is a six-year-old crossbreed who arrived at the centre without much previous history. He is housetrained, although the odd accident is to be expected in his new home.

He can be left alone for up to four hours at a time.

The centre has no history on how he behaves during car journeys, so he may need some training. Max loves his treats and super playful with toys.

Max will make an amazing addition to his new family and has a "goofy" personality.
