Officers investigating an attack at a bar in Rayleigh have issued an update after a CCTV appeal.
It was reported a woman was struck by a bottle which had been thrown inside The Red Door on Rayleigh High Street, at around 12.40am last Friday.
Police had issued an image of a man they wanted to identify in connection with the incident.
He has now been identified.
An Essex Police spokesman commented: "We are no longer looking to identify a man we wanted to speak to in connection with an assault in Rayleigh.
"It was a reported a woman was struck by a bottle which had been thrown inside The Red Door on Rayleigh High Street at around 12.40am on Friday March 29.
"A man we wanted to speak to has been identified."
