A WOMAN has been arrested in connection with suspected drug dealing in Southend as specialist police made seven arrests across the county.

Officers from two specialist Essex Police teams made the arrests on Friday as they targeted suspected high-harm offenders.

One arrest was made in Southend, where a woman was suspected of being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs.

During these operations officers arrested people in connection with serious violent crime and the supply of drugs. They also seized vehicles which were being driven without relevant licences or paperwork.

In south Essex, a man in Billericay was also arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of Class B drugs and officers concerned with the way someone was driving in Brentwood arrested a motorist after they failed a roadside breath test.

A second man was arrested after failing another roadside breath test in Brentwood.

Superintendent Phil Stinger said: “Our officers are out and about across the county, committed to keeping people safe and arresting those who commit crime.

“Working on intelligence provided and with support from partners we will find those people who think they can commit crime in Essex and we will arrest them.

“Dedicated teams from across the force are committed to taking people who are intent on causing harm off the streets."
