Rail passengers across south Essex are facing major disruption today thanks to national strike action being taken out by members of the Aslef union.

Greater Anglia has warned customers of a massively reduced service across the board for commuters today, with c2c also warning customers to not travel on their services.

All services on c2c are cancelled today, with service set to resume tomorrow.

Services on Greater Anglia will be running once hourly, with trains departing Southend Victoria into Liverpool Street at 13 past the hour, with service concluding around 10pm.

The Norwich/Colchester line and the Stansted Airport/London Liverpool Street line will be running similarly, but all other Greater Anglia routes are cancelled today.

Members of Aslef, who are currently locked in a pay dispute with rail bosses, have banned overtime in Monday and Tuesday, which will also likely affect service on c2c and Greater Anglia.
