DRIVERS are warned to expect delays as a road near Southend Airport is set to be closed for tree maintenance work.

Both sides of Manners Way, near Southend Airport, will be shut for five days at the end of April for tree pruning and maintenance work from Warners Bridge to Cuckoo Corner.

The work will be carried out for Southend Council by Tree Fella in three sections, mainly in the morning between 9.30am and 1pm from April 29 to May 3, when road closures and diversions will be in place around the area for safety.

Traffic alerts map one.network has warned that delays are "likely".

Similar work will also be carried out in Hobleythick Lane on April 14 from the A127 Prince Avenue at the Bell and Carlton Avenue, and the entire length of Ashurst Avenue from April 22 to April 23.

There will also be temporary parking restrictions imposed during this time.

Bus services 7, 8, 9 and X30 will be diverted from the areas. Access for emergency services and vehicles being used in connection with the works will be maintained during the closure.
