A MOTORCYCLIST has been rushed to hospital with serious injuries as a road closure remains in place after a crash.
Police are currently on the scene of a serious crash involving a motorcycle at Broadmayne, in Basildon, with part of the road closed.
Two ambulances, an ambulance officer vehicle and Essex and Herts Air Ambulance all attended after reports of the crash earlier this afternoon, at about 2pm.
The motorbike rider has been taken to The Royal London Hospital with serious injuries.
An Essex Police spokesman said: “We are on the scene of a serious collision involving a motorcycle at Broadmayne, in Basildon.
“One casualty has been taken on to hospital with serious injuries.
“A road closure remains in place we would thank the public for their patience while we deal with this incident.”
An East of England Ambulance Service spokesman commented: "Two ambulances, an ambulance officer vehicle and Essex and Herts Air Ambulance were called to Westgate Basildon following reports of a road traffic collision.
"One man with serious injuries was transported by road ambulance to The Royal London Hospital."
