AN Essex actress is set to star in the upcoming season of Bridgerton – which has broken records as Netflix’s most watched original series.
Hannah Dodds, 28, was born in Colchester and grew up in Leavenheath on the Essex-Suffolk border.
Hannah will play Francesca Bridgerton in Bridgerton season 3 in a recast of the role after previous actress Ruby Stokes was unable to continue playing the character due to scheduling conflicts.
Shona Rhimes, executive producer of Bridgerton, plans for eight seasons of the show to follow the eight Bridgerton books by Julia Quinn.
As each book follows a Bridgerton sibling, in Francesca’s case the sixth novel, this would mean Hannah Dodd could also potentially be the lead character in a future season.
Francesca is described as being “a mystery within her chatty, extroverted family’.
Hannah is best known for her roles in Hulu’s Find Me In Paris and in Netflix’s Anatomy of a Scandal and Enola Holmes 2.
Bridgerton season 3 will be released in two parts, with the first four episodes landing on Netflix on May 16 with the final four episodes being released on June 13.
Bridgerton has also been confirmed for a fourth season.
