POLICE have launched an appeal to speak to a man in connection with an investigation into a burglary in Basildon. 

Essex Police say the victim woke up to find their bike had been stolen from their garden shed, in the early hours of March 9. 

Officers investigating the residential burglary, on High Road, in Langdon Hills, have now released an image. 

The image is of a man who they would like to speak with in connection with this investigation. 

A spokesman for Essex Police said: "We are appealing for the public’s help to identify this man, in connection with an ongoing investigation into a burglary in Basildon. 

"Officers are currently investigating a residential burglary which occurred on High Road in the Langdon Hills area of Basildon in the early hours of March 9. 

"The victim woke up to find their bike had been stolen from their garden shed. 

"Enquiries are ongoing and detectives are now releasing an image of a man who they would like to speak with in connection with this investigation. 

"If you recognise him or have any information which could help, please contact us quoting reference number 42/39466/24."
