TWO town centre roads are set to be shut for more than a month among six upcoming roadworks this month.

Western Road and Norsey Road will both be closed from their junctions with Billericay High Street from Tuesday, with Western Road shut to West Park Drive and Norsey Road will close to Crown Road.

The closures will be in place for 32 days while Cadent carries out mains replacement works.

Alternative routes are available via High Street, London Road and vice versa, and St Andrews Drive, Stock Road, High Street and vice versa.


Closures will also be in place on part of a main road in Leigh next week.

Elm Road is closing north-bound from its junction with Rectory Grove from 9.30am until 3.30pm on Tuesday and Wednesday.

This is while BT maintenance works take place.

A diversion will be in place via Elm Road, Broadway West, Rectory Grove, Hadleigh Road, London Road and Cranleigh Drive.


New gas main connection works in Westcliff will force a road to be closed for five days.

Drivers will be unable to exit Park Road into Avenue Road from 8am on Monday until 5pm next Friday for the Cadent work to take place.

The alternative route will be via Avenue Road, St Vincent's Road, Milton Road and Cambridge Road.


A Great Burstead road will be shut for three days later this month for Essex County Council works.

Tyrrells Road is closing from its junction with Southend Road to its junction with Stockwell Close on Monday, April 29 for three days.

This is while carriageway patching is carried out.

Drivers will be diverted via Southend Road, Burstead Drive, The Redinge, Tyrrells Road and vice versa.


A ROAD near Basildon Station is closing overnight for telecoms works.

Part of Southernhay is set to shut from its junction with Station Way overnight on Tuesday, April 30, from 11pm to 6am.

This will be in place while telecoms works are undertaken by MBNL.

A diversion route will be in place via Station Way, Cherrydown East, Clay Hill Road, Sparrows Herne, Lee Woottens Lane, Fobbing Farm Roundabout, and Nether Mayne.


Another main road is set for a late night closure while bridge inspection works are undertaken.

Church Road will be partially closed from its junction with Osborne Road in Vange on Tuesday, April 30.

The closure will be in place from 10pm until midnight while Network Rail carries out these works.

An alternative route is available via Church Road, Clay Hill Road, Timberlog Lane, Mopsies Roundabout, Broadmayne and vice versa.
