COMMUTERS are facing delays as c2c trains have been diverted with a tree blocking the railway.

The tree is blocking the railway at Ockendon with services diverted via Rainham and passengers being conveyed by London buses.

Arrangements have been made for c2c tickets to be accepted for these journeys as passengers are being conveyed between Upminster and Grays via Ockendon in both directions "until further notice".

Disruption is expected until 12.30pm, however a c2c spokesman on X - formerly Twitter - said they were "waiting for an update and will provide more information as soon as possible".

They added: "If your journey has been disrupted by more than 15 minutes, you may be entitled to cash compensation.

"Please visit www.c2c-online.co.uk/help-feedback/delay-repay for information on how to claim."

This comes as a yellow weather warning is in place across Essex until 10pm tonight with the Met Office warning of disruption and delays to travel as strong winds hit the county.
