MEMBERS of the public have been warned not to approach but call 999 if they see a man who has absconded from prison.
Jay Sharpley, who has links to Southend, was reported as missing to police on Saturday, having absconded from Hollesley Bay prison at 6pm.
Suffolk Police has now launched an appeal to find him.
The 40-year-old is serving an eight years and eight months sentence for robbery, possession of imitation firearm with intent and concerned in the supply of class A drugs.

He is known to have links to the south Essex city as well as Shrewsbury and Bournemouth
He is described as white male, six foot tall, of medium build with brown hair and eyes. He has a neck tattoo stating "the strong lead and the weak follow".
He was wearing grey hooded top, grey basketball cap and blue jeans
A Suffolk Police spokesman said: "If you have seen him or know the location of his whereabouts please do not approach him but contact police on 999 quoting CAD reference SC-13042024-351."
