POLICE have released an image of a woman they want to speak to after a serious assault on a girl at a south Essex train station.

The British Transport Police say detectives investigating a serious assault on a young girl are today releasing this image in connection.

At around 2.50pm on Friday, March 15, a 14-year-old girl entered the lift at Tilbury Town railway station.

A woman with a small child then entered the lift and an altercation ensued before the woman pulled the teenage girl’s hair and hit her in the face.

Officers believe the woman in the image may have information that could help their investigation.

A spokesman said: "Detectives investigating a serious assault on a young girl are today releasing this image in connection.

"Anyone who recognises her or has further information is asked to contact BTP by texting 61016 or by calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 435 of 15 March.
