TWO men have appeared in court after police conducted raids in south Essex relating to stolen cars and drug-related offences.

Essex Police carried out five warrants at four locations in Southend and one in Rayleigh on Wednesday.

The co-ordinated strikes were led by officers from Op Falcon and the Castle Point and Rochford Community Police Team who were supported by the Operational Support Group and Stolen Vehicle Investigation Unit officers.

As a result of the raids, two men were arrested and charged.

He answered charges of conspiring to steal motor vehicles between 2020 and 2024, possessing a weapon for the discharge of a noxious substance, possession of cannabis and being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs (heroin and crack cocaine).

Jack Whiten-Simpson, 23, of Chestnut Grove, Southend, appeared at the same court charged with being concerned in the supply of cocaine and cannabis.

Both men will now appear at Basildon Crown Court on May 16.
