COLCHESTER United were beaten 1-0 at Notts County, in their final away game of the League Two season.

Macauley Langstaff scored the Magpies' second-half winner as the U's were beaten 1-0 at Meadow Lane, leaving them needing a point to secure safety from their remaining two games of the season.

Here are the views of Colchester fans, following their side's disappointing defeat.

We played as though we were already safe today. Very disappointing display. I thought we’d be more up for this after the confidence seemed to be building after 2 wins on the bounce. Luckily Crawley helped us out today.

Not much to mention as we had very little time on the ball. Notts County dominated the match and looked very good. We missed Smith today, just needed that someone to bring strength to the midfield. Just need to move forward and focus on the next 2 home games.

Poor opportunity missed I say. Wasted opportunity I think we played for a point And just didn’t get it against a team with nothing to play for Not good The players still just about league two I think

Complacent.

A nervous listen on IFollow plus paying attention to the Sutton game. We need to push on Tuesday now. A point and we are safe. COME ON COL U!!!

Poor with the ball & passive without. Crawley have done us a favour. Read wasn’t his usual self, clearly feeling his injury. Hopefully we can play with positivity on Tuesday and finish the job.

Missing Smith so much…What he brings to this team is immeasurable. Looking ahead to next season….Trepidation. Can’t always rely on being not as bad as two others….Lot of wages invested in Jay etc…

Looked very tired and sluggish second half, don't know if the fixture schedule is taking its toll
