FIVE adorable pooches being cared for by the Dogs Trust rehoming centre in Basildon are in need of their forever homes.
Odie, a French Bulldog
Odie is a cute 4-year-old Frenchie who is looking for a home with a single person, who is experienced with dogs and the breed especially. He can often be quite mouthy when he gets over-excited, so he will need an understanding human who is willing to work on this with him.
He enjoys his walks, likes seeing other dogs when he is out, and likes to make new doggy friends. He would not like to live with another dog though, since both his human and his toys are very precious to him and he does not like to share! He builds extraordinarily strong bonds with his favourite humans, and a potential adopter will need to make multiple visits to the centre to get to know him and his little quirks before taking him home.
Odie is on long term medication and will need regular vet visits, which he is getting more used to and is fully muzzle trained to ensure everyone's safety. The rehoming centre would prefer for Odie to have a garden as he can be energetic at times and loves to play.
Chester, a Pomeranian Cross
Six-year-old Chester is looking for his special home and is ready to live his happiest life, but must live with his buddy Monty as they have lived together for all of Chester's life. This cheeky boy is happy to meet new people and visitors to the home and will be able to live in a home with children over the age of 11.
He loves exploring outdoors, loves to sniff and enjoys his walks. Chester will need a home with plenty of patience and guidance and any leaving hours will need to be built up slowly.
Monty, a Crossbreed
Thirteen-year-old Monty is looking for the special home where he can live with his lifelong friend Chester. He can also live with older children and is happy to meet new people and visitors to the home. Due to his age, he will need a home with plenty of patience and guidance as well as a nice warm lap to snuggle up on. Any leaving hours will also need to be built up slowly.
Biscuit, a Dachshund
One-year-old Biscuit is looking for a home with no other pets and a private secure garden so he can potter around without any distractions. He can live with older teens over the age of 16 as he can be mouthy. Time alone must be built up slowly as he can be a nervous boy. He is also looking for his new owners to help him with confidence building and must be willing to come up and meet him a few times before he can go home.
Rumor, a Labrador
history, is seeking an adult-only home with no visiting children. This is due to her being a bit worried meeting new people and she can bark at strangers at a distance. She will also need to be the only dog in the home as she is under-socialised with dogs, reactive and will need ongoing training in her new home.
Rumor, a 2-year-old Labrador Retriever who came to Dogs Trust with little previousRumor loves her food and soft toys. Once she knows you she is super excitable and bouncy.
Dogs Trust says Rumor will need to be muzzled and on-lead on walks with experienced owners who can continue all her training.
