A MAN has been rushed to hospital after a car overturned in a busy Basildon road this morning.
Upper Mayne was shut off by police between Burches and Cranes Farm Road following the incident near Pipps Hill retail park.
This was involving a car which had overturned.
An ambulance and police car were seen on the scene during the morning rush hour. The ambulance service has now confirmed one man has been taken to hospital.
An East of England Ambulance Service spokesman said: "We were called at 9.01am with reports of a collision in Upper Mayne, Laindon.
"We sent one ambulance and took a man to Basildon Hospital for further care."
The closure resulted in long delays in the surrounding area this morning.
Essex Police has been contacted for comment.
