A TEEN from the Vale of Glamorgan seriously injured a person and stole an electric scooter.

The teen, who is 16-years-old and cannot be named for legal reasons, stole the scooter in Barry and “maliciously wounded” someone in Cowbridge.

He stole the scooter off of Barry’s Queen Street on August 23, last year.

He inflicted the attack in Cowbridge in September.

The teen, from the village of St Nicholas, near Bonvilston, was made to pay compensation of £500 for his crimes in a sentencing hearing at Cardiff Magistrates Court on April 25 after pleading guilty to both charges on April 2.

He was also placed under a referral order to a youth offender panel for a period of 12 months.

No surcharge or costs were placed upon him in order to prioritise payment of the compensation.
