A TEENAGER was left seriously injured after an attack by a gang of five suspects outside an Essex primary school.

Officers were called to report of a 14-year-old who was assaulted by five suspects outside a primary school in Dorset Avenue, Great Baddow, close to a zebra crossing, on March 24.

Investigating officers have now launched an appeal for an "important witness" who helped the teenager to come forward to help with their enquiries.

An Essex Police spokesman said: "Shortly after, a man helped the teenager, and we would like to speak to this important witness to help us with our enquiries.

"We would also like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the reported assault itself, or has any dashcam footage from the area at the time of the incident to come forward.

"If you can help, please get in touch quoting incident number 693 of Sunday 24 March."
