Airline company easyJet has announced this morning that they will be launching a new base in Southend Airport next March, with flights to six new exciting destinations on offer.

easyJet holidays will be on sale from tomorrow with departures from May 1 2025, meaning package holidays from London Southend will be available seven days a week, with flights on sale in the coming months.

The new destinations being offered are:

Pisa

Beautiful Pisa in Tuscany, Italy, is best known for its world-famous leaning tower, though this is just one of the compelling sights across the city. The city centre has a vibrant café and bar scene on account of a large student population, allowing Pisa to offer a lively getaway as well as one steeped in history. Balancing a huge range of gothic churches and renaissance architecture - Pisa is one of Italy's most popular destinations.

Gran Canaria 

Gran Canaria in Spain has been given the nickname of "the continent in miniature" - as the island has incredible, diverse terrain and weather that keeps it in an "eternal summer" - offering winter sun even in January. Temperatures hit 3- degrees in the summer, so pack sun-cream! The island is best known for its beaches and resorts, particularly the Maspalomas in the south and the Playa del Ingles.

Dalaman

Positioned on Turkey's famed turquoise coast, Dalaman is a picturesque region of southwestern Turkey - known to have some of the best beaches in the country. The area contains the famous Ölüdeniz blue lagoon, with pristine waters, beaches and a mountain vista. The area is also a popular paragliding spot for adrenaline junkies!

Antalya

Known as the "gateway to the Turkish riviera", Antalya is a large city on Turkey's western Mediterranean coastline. The historic market district of Kaleiçi i famed for its blend of ottoman and roman architecture, winding lanes and bustling markets to get lost in. For history lovers, Antalya is a must see.

Marrakech 

Increasingly popular as a holiday destination and also on offer is Marrakech, in Morocco, known for its sights and sounds that dazzle and enchant. Key sights include the Djemaa El Fna, a colossal main square  known for offering a non-stop market experience, complete with musicians, snake charmers and non-stop drama. The famous Jardin Majorelle designed by French fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent is also a must-see location, a garden of 300 plants species from five continents.

Enfidha

Enfidha, in north-east Tunisia is seen as a tourist gateway to Tunis and Sousse - which offer incredible getaways. Go on a guided quad bike tour through the Hammamet Hills or take ride across the Tunisian Sahara. The stunning sand dunes are enough of a reason to check Enfidha out.
