A man spotted in Curringham is not believed to be a missing man from Purfleet.
Essex Police have issued an update after a man was mistaken for Andrew Kurt, 61, who was reported missing and was last seen on May 15.
Mr Kurt is described as white, 5ft 2ins and was wearing a bucket hat, blue shirt, no coat, light blue trousers and brown suede shoes when he was reported missing.
A police spokesman said: "If you know where Andrew is or have any information that could help us find him, please call 999 and quote incident 1173 of May 15."
