A VIBRANT train planter designed by a Thorpe Bay schoolgirl has spruced up a c2c station.

Train company c2c's poster competition winner, Bournes Green Junior school student Bella Gjika, unveiled her unique train-themed planter at Thorpe Bay station May 22.

Bella's vibrant, geranium-filled, four-carriage planter design now brightens the station's main entrance.

The Woodshed in Milton Keynes built the bespoke creation exclusively for c2c, sitting it on a tropical timber track from Ashwells Timber of Upminster.

The planter was unveiled to members of the community, including Andrew Hall from the Thorpe Bay Residents Association, Bournes Green Executive Headteacher, David Denchfield, senior c2c colleagues and Bella’s proud father Ylli.

Bella said: "The planter is absolutely brilliant, it’s really colourful and looks just like my drawing.

"I am very grateful to the team at c2c for building it - even adding small windows for extra flowers - and I can’t wait to bring my friends and family to the station to see it.

"This really is the best competition prize ever."
