Staff and volunteers at Pinetree Care Home in Rayleigh made a splash by raising more than £200 for charity in a car wash event.

They welcomed vehicles for a clean-up revamp, managing to spruce up 11 cars for Barchester's Charitable Foundation, raising £206 in the process.

Additionally, Pinetree’s managing director, Angela Bradford, is participating in a fundraising 'cook-off' against other Barchester directors.

Laura Glyde, general manager at Pinetree, said: "We love to fundraise for charities, we will pick different causes to support that will be selected by staff, residents and friends of the home.

"Barchester’s Charitable Foundation is a great cause that helps many people in need so we feel really proud to have been able to raise this money.

"Thank you to everyone who donated."

The charity supports older adults and those with disabilities or mental health issues.

Pinetree Care Home, run by Barchester Healthcare, offers residential, dementia and respite care.
