Train operator c2c has apologised for delays after a lorry hit a train bridge in Pitsea.
c2c customers are currently facing delays of up to four minutes as a result of speed restrictions that are in force following the crash.
Delays are expected to continue until 10.15am.
A c2c spokesman said: "Due to a lorry colliding with a bridge between Basildon and Pitsea, trains have to run at reduced speed.
"Train services via Basildon may be delayed by up to four minutes."
