A DEPARTURE flight from Southend Airport has been cancelled due to "adverse weather conditions".
The flight from Southend Airport to Palma de Mallorca was scheduled for 8.35pm this evening.
However, it has been cancelled following substantial flooding at the Spanish destination.
A spokesman for London Southend Airport said: "Due to adverse weather in Palma de Mallorca, tonight's easyJet departure to the Spanish city has been cancelled.
"Please contact the airline for further information."
A number of flights to Spain have been delayed or cancelled across the UK due to the flooding issues. Travelers have been advised to check before setting off.
A spokesman for Palma de Mallorca airport tweeted: "The Airport of Palma of Mallorca temporarily paralyzes operations due to the impact of a strong storm.
"The airport has activated its emergency plan for flooding at the entrances and in some areas of the building."
According to reports, a stark 45 litres has fallen within one hours, with peaks of up to 90 litres of rainfall.
