NEW food hygiene ratings have been awarded to nine south Essex establishments; the Food Standards Agency’s website shows.
The scheme gives businesses a rating from five to zero, with five being hygiene standards are very good, and zero being urgent improvement is required.
Here are the establishments in south Essex that have been awarded a new hygiene rating:
Southend:
Henry Burgers at 141 Broadway, Leigh was handed a five-out-of-five rating after assessment on June 13.
Troya at 80 Leigh Road, Leigh was handed a five-out-of-five rating after assessment on June 7.
Monti at 513 Southchurch Road, Southend was handed a four-out-of-five rating after assessment on May 10.
Castle Point:
Tikkawala Ltd at 90c High Street, Canvey was handed a five-out-of-five rating after assessment on June 5.
Subway Shell Filling Station at 280 High Road, South Benfleet was handed a five-out-of-five rating after assessment on June 4.
Oyster Bay Sports & Wine Bar at Unit 4, Casino Parade, Eastern Esplanade, Canvey was handed a five-out-of-five rating after assessment on June 11.
Bread and Cheese at 520 London Road, South Benfleet was handed a five-out-of-five rating after assessment on June 5.
The Woodmans Arms at The Woodmans Arms Public House, Rayleigh Road, Thundersley was handed a five-out-of-five rating after assessment on May 31.
