A MAN has been arrested as part of an investigation into a robbery at a Billericay Co-op.
Essex Police received a number of calls to a Co-op store in The Pantiles, off Queens Park Avenue, shortly after 10.45pm last night.
During the incident it was reported four people entered the shop and went behind the counter and stole about £1,000 worth of tobacco and cigarettes before leaving.
There were no reports of any injuries.
Later a vehicle of interest was stopped in Havering.
A man was subsequently arrested on suspicion of robbery.
The man remains in custody for questioning.
Essex Police are also appealing for anyone who was in the area last night and witnessed any suspicious behaviour or has any dashcam footage of the area at the time.
