A MAN has been charged after police were called to a knifepoint robbery at a shop in Rochford
Police were called at around 6.50pm on Sunday (June 30) with reports of a robbery at a convenience store in West Street.
It was reported one suspect entered the shop and demanded cash, before leaving with a two-figure sum.
Officers attended the scene and enquiries have continued throughout this week.
This work led to an arrest on Thursday.
A man, 37-year-old Jay Phipps, of Rochford Garden Way, Rochford, has since been charged with robbery.
He appeared at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court today where he was remanded in custody until a further hearing at Basildon Crown Court on August 5.
