An animal hospital which works tirelessly all year round is set to open up a new charity shop within a south Essex shopping centre.
South Essex Wildlife Hospital, based in Orsett, has announced that it will open a new charity shop on level two, in Brompton Walk, situated at Lakeside Shopping Centre.
This comes after the charity was named as Lakeside Shopping Centre's charity of the year for 2024-2025.
South Essex Wildlife Hospital, originally established in the 1990s, has grown rapidly caring for thousands of animals every single year.
The charity moved to its current base in 2009, where founder Sue Schwar and lead vet Tom Linsel live to provide care for the animals 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
The animal hospital is now in search of volunteers to assist at the new charity shop.
A spokesman for the South Essex Wildlife Hospital said: "You may already know that we have been named as the Lakeside Shopping Centre Charity of the Year for 2024/25, but we now need your help.
"As part of this exciting new partnership, we are thrilled to announce that we have a new charity shop opening very soon on Brompton Walk (level two).
"This is an incredible opportunity for us, but we need volunteers to help us man the counter.
"There's so much more that we are excited to announce, but if you wanted to be part of the team to make this dream a reality, please go to the link below and click on 'count me in' to fill out an application form - please use 'charity shop' as the role being applied for.
"We look forward to welcoming you onto the growing South Essex Wildlife Hospital team."
