PHOTOS show cables hanging across a major south Essex road after reports a "crash" knocked a telegraph pole over.
Runwell Road is closed in both directions between Church End Lane and Browns Avenue - near the popular Quart Pot pub in Runwell.
This is following a crash which brought down power cables across the road, according to Essex County Council's traffic alerts.
A resident who lives in the road reported a lorry had "hit" the telegraph pole, bringing the cables down.
The Hedingham bus pictured was not involved in the crash, the Echo understands.
Traffic is queueing both ways in the road back to Golden Jubilee Way and up to St Lukes Way.
