SOUTHEND and Basildon are set to reach warm temperatures after a government agency has issued a weather health alert.
The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) has issued a yellow-health alert for the east of England from tomorrow until 11pm on Wednesday, July 31.
According to the UKHSA’s website there is “potential for significant impacts to be observed across the health and social care sector due to high temperatures”.
The UKHSA website said: “Observed increase in mortality across the population likely, particularly in the 65 plus age group or those with health conditions, but impacts may also be seen in younger age groups.”
According to the Met Office, Southend is expected to reach height of 29C during the week, where the temperature in Basildon will peak at 30C degrees.
