A HEARTBROKEN family have paid tribute to a "one of a kind" dad who tragically died after a serious incident in Westcliff.
A murder investigation was launched on Thursday, July 18, after reports two men were seriously assaulted on Hamlet Court Road at around 6pm.
Gary Hindle (pictured inset), 53, sadly died at the scene.
His family have paid tribute to him saying: “We are all shocked and devastated by the loss of our much-loved son, dad, brother and partner.
“He has been taken from us in such a tragic way and it's something no family should ever have to go through.
“Gary was one of a kind and had a heart of gold. He touched so many lives and will be greatly missed by the many people who loved him dearly.”
The investigation into Gary’s death remains ongoing within Essex Police's Serious Crime Directorate. The second victim, who sustained serious facial injuries has since been discharged from hospital.
Barry Mooney, 55 of Crowstone Road, Westcliff was charged with murder, attempted murder and possession of a bladed or pointed article in connection with this investigation.
He will next appear at Basildon Crown Court on August 30.
