TWO new major music events are set to be staged in south Essex this weekend as big names such as Toploader and Baby D head the impressive line-up.
The Big 90s vs 00s Festival will take place on Canvey on Saturday featuring popular acts such as Let Loose, Livin’ Joy, and renowned DJ Toby Anstis.
The following day, will see “The Canvey Taylor Eras Experience”, a celebration dedicated to Taylor Swift fans, with performances from tribute act Fearlessly Taylor.
Both events mark the start of a new series of shows planned for 2024 and beyond, organised by a group of promoters in collaboration with Castle Point Council.
Taking place at Waterside Farm’s recreation ground, the area will be transformed into a festival venue, complete with a main stage, large screens, fairground rides, and various food and drink stalls.
Heart FM DJ Toby Anstis, who will headline the 90s and 00s festival, said: “I can’t wait to bring my show - Relight The 90s to Canvey on August 17.
“Get ready for a night filled with the best 90s hits, incredible energy, and a trip down memory lane like never before.
“It’s going to be a spectacular event that you won’t want to miss.”
Rob Jeffrey, from Let Loose, said: “It’s such a pleasure to hit Canvey this summer.
“I am Essex born and bred, Colchester being my hometown, so it’s going to be amazing to perform so close to home.
“It’s been 30 years this summer since our biggest hit, Crazy for You. The time was right for us to re-unite and what could be a better place to celebrate the 90s on our doorstep than Canvey? See you there for one hell of a show.”
